Nature Pedagogy Book Launch
Tuesday the 31st of March was an exciting day for school staff as they celebrated the launch of two wonderful publications and the work of our teachers – Sam, Juliet and Debra. “I wonder how stories get around?” features school stories from a joint AISWA and Edith Cowan University project exploring creating texts in the early years. Sam’s chapter focuses on Literacy Mini-Lessons and Juliet’s chapter focuses on Intentional Literacy Learning.
The book ‘Nature Pedagogy’ features Debra’s Bush School and Annabelle and Sam’s Bathers Beach Wild Space and is the culmination of a 15 month project for Sam who was employed by AISWA as author/editor. It features 9 schools who attended the 2012 Scotland Study Tour to experience Forest Schools and nature based programs. The book was launched at Bathers Beach which was particularly special for our school as it is the site of the PP/1 Beach School.
