What I want to be when I grow up

The Pre-Primary/Year 1′s have been investigating what they want to be when they grow up. This has involved thinking about, discussing and drawing things we would like to be and do. Part of our influence has been to visit different types of work opportunities.

Students visited a studio to see how a musician works and had a visit from an arborist who told us about the work of , as well as visiting a local Architect Business who showed us how they work.

We also had a visit from to an actor who discussed her career and a vet who shared her research with turtles.

We have previously visited the Fire Station and Police to see what their work involves and how their work affects the greater community and had a session with a yoga teacher.

These discussions have all contributed towards our students individual morning talks which were presented to the class “What I want to be when they grow up”.

The morning talks included future scientists mixing up potions and carrying out experiments, an architect designing houses and a fashion designer working on her “Princess” collection.
